Web3 & Travel
Takyon is creating the first Travel Exchange based on Web3 and blockchain, by transforming nominal travel bookings into easily redeemable, resalable and re-giftable digital goods.
In this way, Takyon is enabling a free buying and selling activity of travel services where travellers own these firsthand as proper digital goods nd make use of them as if they were physical goods.
In particular, Takyon enables:
1) The creation of Travel NFTs on the channels of the Travel Service Providers (e.g. Hotel Website, OTA website, Airline website). These are digital goods linked to specific services but not assigned to a specific beneficiary (unilikely actual bookings) until service date.
The creation can happen in various ways but the main ones are the creation of an ad-hoc re-sellable fare or a re-sellability option during check-out;
2) The free buying and selling of Travel NFTs by final users. This happen on Takyon proprietary Travel Exchange (but also on any NFT Marketplace which runs on the same blockchain).
In relation to advantages, Takyon offers many to the different stakeholders, in particular:
- For the travellers:
(a) when selling, the ability to change plans without losing money and the possibility to make a profit speculating on increasing prices;
(b) when buying, the possibility to save money buying at lower prices vs. market and the ability to find sold-out travel solutions.
- For the Travel Service Providers:
(a) when selling, the possibility to earn a 2.5% on each resale (earning from already concluded bookings), the guarantee of cashflows, the conversion of refundable bookings into re-sellable and the possibility to receive more bookings in advance;
(b) when buying, the possibility to regenerate inventory in case of high demand.
- For the Tour Operators and Travel Agencies:
(a) when selling, an higher level of liquidity due to a B2C marketplace;
(b) when buying, the possibility to book more with savings due to the marketplace safety net.
