Nvidia ha pubblicato una trimestrale solida, ma con risultati meno eclatanti rispetto alle aspettative del mercato. Questo ha portato a una reazione contenuta da parte degli investitori.

 Principali dati finanziari:

  • Ricavi Q4: 39,3 miliardi di dollari, in linea con le stime (range 39-42 miliardi).
  • Utile per azione (EPS): 89 centesimi, sopra le attese di 84 centesimi, ma con il minor margine di superamento delle stime dal 2023.
  • Segmento data center: 35,6 miliardi di dollari, sopra le attese di 34,1 miliardi.
  • Segmento gaming: 2,5 miliardi di dollari, sotto le attese di 3 miliardi.
  • Segmento automotive: 570 milioni di dollari.

 Guidance e prospettive future

  • Ricavi Q1 2025: attesi a 43 miliardi, leggermente sopra la media delle stime di 42,3 miliardi, ma sotto le previsioni più ottimistiche.
  • Margini lordi in calo: attesi al 71%, con possibilità di recupero sopra il 75% entro fine anno grazie all’ottimizzazione della supply chain.
  • Forte domanda per il nuovo chip Blackwell, che ha generato 11 miliardi di dollari in Q4, segnando la crescita più veloce nella storia dell’azienda.

 Il caso DeepSeek: minaccia o opportunità?

L’annuncio di DeepSeek, un modello AI più efficiente che riduce il bisogno di chip potenti, ha causato forti vendite nel settore, con Nvidia che ha perso 589 miliardi di dollari di capitalizzazione in un solo giorno. Tuttavia, il CEO Jensen Huang ha ribaltato la narrativa, sottolineando come questa tecnologia potrebbe aumentare la richiesta di capacità computazionale, sostenendo quindi la domanda di chip nel lungo termine.

 Nvidia è ancora un buon investimento?

  • Il business non è in deterioramento, ma sta maturando, con una crescita ancora forte ma in rallentamento.
  • Ai prezzi attuali (130 USD, pari a 29,3x gli utili stimati), il titolo è valutato con un premio significativo rispetto alla media del mercato (22x).
  • Se i tassi di crescita continueranno a scendere, un livello più interessante per un acquisto potrebbe essere intorno a 102 USD (pari a 22x gli utili).
  • Tuttavia, con un’ipotesi di crescita degli utili del 33% nel 2025, il prezzo “fair” di Nvidia potrebbe salire a 135 USD entro fine anno.
